Your certified energy advisor will explain the rebates your home qualifies for.

Follow these 4 steps to get your rebate

We never come uninvited: Union Gas never authorizes others to perform unsolicited inspections on home equipment, such as furnaces and water heaters, and never calls to promote products and services. Energy assessments for the Home Reno Rebate program are performed by licensed service organizations only at the request of homeowners.

1

Before starting any renovations, call a participating certified energy advisor in your area

You can find one using the Postal Code Lookup above. A certified energy advisor is an independent third party who will advise you on upgrades and help you make sure you meet the qualifications for the program.

2

Have your certified energy advisor complete a pre-renovation energy assessment

The energy advisor will conduct a basement-to-attic assessment of your home’s current energy use and generate a customized report to explain which upgrades can improve your home’s energy efficiency. The pre-renovation assessment takes about two to three hours. When you complete the program, you’ll be reimbursed up to $600 for the cost of the assessments, which typically covers the full amount; you pay the HST on the cost of the assessments.1

3

Complete at least TWO of the eligible renovations

We recommend you get at least three quotes before selecting a reputable contractor for renovations. Have a Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) registered contractor perform any equipment installations.

4

Contact your certified energy advisor to complete your post-renovation assessment

Your second assessment will take about one to two hours and must be completed within 120 days of your first assessment. This assessment will show you exactly how much difference your energy efficiency upgrades made. Your advisor will collect and submit all the necessary paperwork to Union Gas. You will get your rebate cheque within 90 business days of submission.
