Energy Assistance Program

Need Help with your Natural Gas Bill?

Eligible customers having trouble paying their bill may qualify for EMERGENCY RELIEF to avoid having their service disconnected.  Emergency financial assistance is available year-round as funding allows.

Apply online to United Way Simcoe Muskoka for more information.

You'll be asked to provide documents such as Enbridge Gas bills, disconnection notices, identification, proof of household income, copy of rental contract, lease or mortgage, bank statements etc.

United Way Simcoe Muskoka will assess whether you qualify based on a number of factors like household income, the number of people in your home and your arrears status.

If you qualify, you can get up to $500 in emergency assistance, which is applied directly to your Enbridge Gas bill.

  • Help is only available if you are currently behind on your bill and may face having your service shut-off (disconnected)
  • For emergency relief only - it is not meant as ongoing help to pay your bills
  • You cannot receive more money than you owe on your bill
  • The program provides a one-time grant towards your natural gas bill if you are temporarily unable to make ends meet in an emergency situation
