Get cash back for making two qualifying renovations

To qualify for the Home Reno Rebate program, you must complete a pre-renovation energy assessment and complete a minimum of two upgrade renovations from the table below.

$250 bonus—make more changes, get more back

Customers who complete more than two upgrades also qualify for a $250 bonus for each additional upgrade installed—up to a maximum of $5,000.

Your certified energy advisor will walk you through all the rebates your home is eligible for and explain how to get the $250 bonus. The rebate includes up to $600 for both energy assessments. You pay the HST on the cost of the assessments.

Upgrade renovation rebates

Complete at least two of these renovation upgrades to be eligible. If you complete more than two, you also qualify for a $250 bonus for each additional upgrade. You can get up to a maximum of $5,000 back.

Wood burning system

Replace a wood-burning system or appliance with one of the following:

  • An indoor wood-burning appliance certified to either CAN/CSA-B415.1 or the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 40 CFR Part 60 wood-burning appliance standard. Appliances exempt from EPA testing are not eligible unless they are B415.1-M92 certified.
  • An indoor pellet-burning appliance (includes stoves, furnaces and boilers that burn wood, corn, grain or cherry pits).
  • An indoor masonry heater.

Replace a solid fuel-fired outdoor boiler with an outdoor wood-burning appliance certified to either CAN/CSA-B415.1 or United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Outdoor Wood-fired Hydronic Heater (OWHH Method 28) Program (Phase 1 and 2). The capacity of the new equipment must be equal to or smaller than the capacity of the boiler being replaced.

Note: Your home’s primary heating source needs to be a wood burning system to qualify.

These do not qualify for the two renovations required to participate in the program or the bonus rebate. These additional rebates are not limited by the $5,000 maximum.

Your certified energy advisor will submit your application for rebates

You will get your rebate cheque within 90 business days of submission. The rebate includes up to $600 for both energy assessments. You pay the HST on the cost of the assessments.
