Get cash back for making two qualifying renovations

To qualify for the Home Reno Rebate program, you must complete a pre-renovation energy assessment and complete a minimum of two upgrade renovations from the table below.

$250 bonus—make more changes, get more back

Customers who complete more than two upgrades also qualify for a $250 bonus for each additional upgrade installed—up to a maximum of $5,000.

Your certified energy advisor will walk you through all the rebates your home is eligible for and explain how to get the $250 bonus. The rebate includes up to $600 for both energy assessments. You pay the HST on the cost of the assessments.

Upgrade renovation rebates

Complete at least two of these renovation upgrades to be eligible. If you complete more than two, you also qualify for a $250 bonus for each additional upgrade. You can get up to a maximum of $5,000 back, however Air Source Heat Pump rebates are not limited by the $5,000 maximum.

  • Serves as a primary heat source
  • ENERGY STAR® certified and minimum efficiency rating of EER 12.5/SEER 15/HSPF 8.5
CC ASHP Ductless:
  • Must meet NEEP’s Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump Specification (NEEP, 2017 or more recent) and;
  • Have a COP at -15 C (5 F) greater than 2.0 at a max capacity operation and;
  • Maintain a max capacity at -15 C (5 F) that is greater than or equal to 55 per cent of maximum capacity at 8.3 C (47 F)
CC ASHP Ducted:
  • Must meet NEEP’s Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump Specification (NEEP, 2017 or more recent)

Additional rebates

These do not qualify for the two renovations required to participate in the program or the bonus rebate. These additional rebates are not limited by the $5,000 maximum.

Your certified energy advisor will submit your application for rebates

You will get your rebate cheque within 90 business days of submission. The rebate includes up to $600 for both energy assessments. You pay the HST on the cost of the assessments.

If there are circumstances that don’t allow you to complete your first and second assessments within 120 days, your advisor can request an extension which will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If you have already participated in the Home Reno Rebate program and received a rebate, you may participate again as long as one year has passed since your post-renovation assessment and you are completing different upgrades. Rebates available on a first come, first served basis. Program enrollment and rebate payment subject to availability of funds.
