Dryer Features - Key things to consider

Energy-Efficiency Options

Doing laundry
  • Choose the size that is most energy-efficient. A dryer that's too big or too small is inefficient and costs more to run.
  • A moisture sensor automatically turns the dryer off when the clothes are dry. This can save you up to 15 per cent in energy costs compared to timer-style shut offs.
  • Select an electronic ignition system rather than a continuously burning pilot light, for significant energy savings.

Venting

  • All dryers must be exhausted safely to the outside of the home to remove the by-products of combustion - water vapour and carbon dioxide.
  • Choose a dryer with venting options – from the back, side or bottom.
