Project Phase: In-Service

Union Gas has completed construction of a 20 kilometre, 48-inch diameter steel natural gas pipeline through an existing corridor that already has three operating pipelines.

Specifically, work took place between the existing Union Gas Hamilton Valve Site (located near Highway 6 and Carlisle Road) and the existing Union Gas Milton Gate Station (located south of Derry Road between Ontario Street and Third Line).

Construction was completed at the end of October 2016, and restoration and clean-up will continue through to the summer of 2017.

Communities will benefit

This project was constructed in accordance with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) approval issued in 2015 and serves a growing demand for clean, affordable natural gas in Ontario and beyond.
Local communities will benefit from the incremental taxes that Union Gas will pay annually. Our company will continue to meet the high standards of safety and environmental responsibility we carry into each and every project.
