"Because of our safety culture, we make it a priority to support our local volunteer firefighters, helping to ensure their safety as they serve the community."

Norfolk County Fire & Rescue Services is comprised of 11 fire stations that are staffed by 254 volunteer firefighters. Education is the first line of defense against the threat of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning: proper maintenance of fuel fired appliances and CO alarms to protect families.

"Thanks to this generous donation by Union Gas, Norfolk County Fire & Rescue Services will be able to purchase additional educational materials on the prevention and detection of carbon monoxide," said Terry Dicks, fire chief, Norfolk County Fire and Rescue Service. "Working together, we can better inform our community on how to be safe from carbon monoxide."
