Union Gas Supports North Bay Fire & Emergency Services With $1,500 Grant For Carbon Monoxide Alarms

North Bay, ON, November 29, 2017 - Union Gas supports North Bay Fire & Emergency Services with a $1,500 grant to help protect members of the community from exposure to Carbon Monoxide.

"At Union Gas, safety governs everything we do, whether we are building a pipeline or installing a gas meter at your home," said Chris Minor, district manager Northeast, Union Gas. "Because of our safety culture, we make it a priority to support our local fire departments, helping to save lives in the community."

North Bay Fire & Emergency Services is a multidisciplinary emergency service provider providing technical expertise in Fire Prevention and Emergency Response. Their primary goal is provide those most in need with the education and prevention resources necessary to assist homeowners to remain fire safe.

"This generous donation from Union Gas will assist us in providing protection to those most in need in the community. We will be working with our community partners, Union Gas and the Hawkins Gignac Foundation to identify those in need and provide assistance through an appliance maintenance program as well as providing carbon monoxide alarms," said Michael Bechard, deputy fire chief, North Bay Fire & Emergency Services. "Working together we are better equipped to keep our community informed and safe."
