"At Union Gas, we're proud to support the great work that United Way Halton & Hamilton does in this community," said Mark Egbedeyi-Emmanuel, district manager Hamilton/Halton, Union Gas. "We share a similar commitment and we work hard to be good neighbours in more than 400 communities we serve across Ontario."
The company's United Way theme, "We Give Today, To Improve Tomorrow," reflects the heart of the campaign, and it also reflects employees' spirit of giving. Numerous fundraising events led by employees were held throughout the year to raise money. Union Gas matches each individual employee and retiree donation dollar for dollar, and those matching dollars will go to our local United Way.
"Union Gas and their employees have inspired others to get involved and give back. Because of you, children and families throughout our local neighbourhoods now have access to opportunities that wouldn't otherwise be available. Opportunities take many forms -like safe shelter; access to healthy meals every day; or a support system to help cope with mental health issues. The support provided has enabled us to do the work which has made the difference in over 400,000 lives across Halton & Hamilton region," said Brad Park, chief development officer, United Way Halton & Hamilton.
Funds will go to support United Way Halton & Hamilton agencies and programs that address the needs of communities they service with the mission to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action.
