Union Gas Supports Lambton Farm Safety Association Courtesy of a $1,000 Grant For Purchase Of Presentation Equipment

Wyoming, ON, February 6, 2017 - Union Gas supports Lambton Farm Safety Association with a $1,000 grant to purchase a projector for safety presentations.

"At Union Gas, safety governs everything we do, whether we are building a pipeline or installing a gas meter at your home," said Wes Armstrong, director, storage and transmission operations, Union Gas. "Because of our safety culture, we make it a priority to support local safety programs, helping to ensure a safer community."

Lambton Farm Safety Association (LFSA) is a small group of volunteers that have been promoting farm safety messages for nearly 40 years.  LFSA helps with Breakfast on the Farm, Dealership Days, Clearwater Safety Day, and Ag in the Classroom and hosts the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® in July for children 6 to 12 years of age.  In 2016, LFSA logged over 980 volunteer hours during safety events and reached over 2,655 children and adults within the communities.  LFSA Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® will be held this year in Forest at the Shores Community Centre on Thursday, July 6th.

"Union Gas has been a local sponsor and sent volunteers to present and help with safety day events since 2013.  LFSA is thankful for this generous financial donation from Union Gas which will be used towards equipment to help with promoting our safety message," said Tracey Childs, LFSA. "Farming is a learned lifestyle, through education and awareness we can help make sure everyone on the farm and in rural communities stay safe."
