Mountain Township Agricultural Society consists of a voluntary Board of Directors who have been hosting an agricultural fair for 125 years. Educating & promoting agriculture awareness is their main mandate. The MTAS considers youth to be a very important part of the future of agriculture. A new event held this year was various educational stations throughout the fairgrounds whereby both urban and rural children learned and participated in sectors involving honey bees, beef, dairy, goats, sheep, chickens, farm machinery and 4H.
"This generous donation from Union Gas will enable us to develop future educational programs and continue the long standing tradition of promoting agriculture and educating our youth whether urban or rural," said Alan Burns, president, MTAS.
