"At Union Gas we feel strongly about working with our neighbours to make great communities even better," said Michelle Rogers, utility services construction manager, Union Gas. "We're proud to support the good work that Kingston Interval House does for this community."

Robin's Hope Second Stage Housing consists of 18 apartments, which offer women and their children affordable housing with a focus on safety, security and rebuilding confidence. Women may stay housed at Robin's Hope up to one year. The focus during their stay is to work on transitioning to a life free from violence for themselves and their children, while also providing them with the tools, resources and confidence to live independently and break free from the cycle of violence. This is done by providing a safe and secure place to live, while helping women and children begin the process of healing with participation in group programming, food sustainability programming and individual counselling.

"This generous donation from Union Gas will allow us to continue to provide Welcome Packages to the women and children who move into our Second Stage Housing program" said Pam Havery, executive director, Kingston Interval House. "Violence against women impacts all of us in our community and we are committed to working collaboratively to eliminate all forms of violence. The financial support from Union Gas makes a significant difference in the work we are able to do."
