Union Gas Supports Sarnia Fire Rescue Services with $1,000 for Safety Education

Sarnia, ON, December 6, 2017 - Union Gas supports Sarnia Fire Rescue Services with a $1,000 grant to purchase fire safety education materials and lifesaving smoke/carbon monoxide alarms.

"We make it a priority to support important and much-needed safety education programs like Sarnia Fire Rescue Services fire safety education and smoke/CO alarm programs" said Greg Wagner, utility services manager Sarnia, Union Gas. "At Union Gas, safety is a top priority, and we are committed to keeping ourselves, our teams and our communities safe."

Sarnia Fire Rescue Services uses fire safety education to help teach the community how to keep safe and avoid devastating incidents caused by fire or carbon monoxide poisoning. Sarnia Fire Rescue Services also has a smoke/CO alarm program to help insure that citizens in the community have lifesaving early detection that smoke and carbon monoxide alarms provide.

Training and awareness, related to the safe handling of natural gas, is important for the fire department and for Union Gas," said John Kingyens, fire chief, Sarnia Fire Rescue Services.
