Union Gas Promotes Safety With A $4,000 Grant To Family & Children's Services Waterloo Region
Kitchener, ON, April 6, 2016 - Union Gas is teaming up with Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region to provide combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to clients within the Waterloo Region, through a $4,000 grant.
"Union Gas has a strong safety culture and above all else, safety is our number one priority," said Rick Bigelow, utility services manager for Waterloo, Union Gas. "Partnering with organizations like Family & Children’s Services of Waterloo Region is one way the company demonstrates that commitment. Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are a critical safety device for all homes, and we are pleased to help make that happen."
As one of 47 Children's Aid Societies in Ontario, Family & Children's Services works together with families, their supports and the community to prevent harm to children and to protect and care for children who have been abused or neglected. The Union Gas grant will help purchase smoke and carbon monoxide alarms needed for families served by the agency.
