Under-fired broilers are often referred to as "charbroilers" and are used in commercial and institutional food service for a variety of tasks—from melting cheese to cooking large cuts of meat. Under-fired broilers come in different sizes ranging from 3 feet to 6 feet. High-efficiency broilers utilize improved radiant design and burner control to allow lower firing and gas input levels during both preheat and cooking modes. The basic design of an under-fired broiler is a suspended metal grill with heat applied from below.

  • $500 per unit

Service Provider Incentive

  • $50 per unit

Equipment Eligibility

  • 3', 4', 5' and 6' sizes
  • Minimum efficiency of 34%
  • Maximum idle energy rate of 65 kBtu/hr
  • Commercial food preparation or processing

Multi-Installation Bonus

Increase your incentives up to 40%. Our multi-installation bonus is an additional incentive for eligible energy-efficient equipment.* A minimum of 4 units is required and can be installed in one or more locations. Your maximum bonus payment can be as much as $20,000 per account holder.

Participants must pay the natural gas bill for the location where the equipment was installed. The following equipment is ineligible for the bonus: demand control ventilation, ozone laundry equipment, multi-unit residential in-suite installations and custom engineering projects.
