Union Gas Announces Binding
Open Season for 2011 Dawn-Parkway Pipeline Expansion
July 16, 2009
Union Gas Limited will conduct a binding open season for a proposed expansion of the company’s Dawn-Parkway pipeline. This expansion will create up to 550,000 gigajoules per day (GJ’s/day) of additional transportation capacity from the Dawn Hub to downstream interconnections at Parkway and Kirkwall, starting November 1, 2011.
Shippers may bid on firm transportation from the Dawn Hub to either Parkway or Kirkwall in order to reach growing markets in Ontario, Quebec, and the US Northeast.
"The Dawn Hub continues to grow as a major supply and trading hub with enhanced depth and liquidity," said Steve Baker, vice-president, business development, Union Gas. "Dawn offers customers diversity of supply and access to premium storage and transportation services."
In addition, Union Gas has over 160 Bcf of storage at
Dawn, which provides customers the option of traditional, high
deliverability and short notice intra-day balancing and storage
services, all at the Dawn Hub.
This open season will run from July 16 through August 26, 2009. For
