Natural Gas Dryers - Installation

save up to $2,000* per year, every year.

Installation:  Step by Step and Simple
After you have ordered your natural gas dryer, you need a certified Heating Venting and Air Conditioning (HVAC) professional to install it. Once you have a contractor, you have nothing more to think about. They'll arrive, extend your natural gas supply to your laundry room, install the dryer and you'll have years of energy and money savings ahead. Installation costs between $150-$250, but these costs are recovered quickly through energy savings. Your retailer may be able to handle every aspect of your installation including contracting an HVAC professional. If this service is not offered or you prefer to handle it yourself, you can easily arrange for installation by taking these steps.

  1. Find an HVAC contractor by looking in the yellow pages, asking for references from neighbours or by visiting the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada website at
  2. Arrange to have at least three HVAC companies come to your home to give you a full estimate on installing your natural gas dryer
  3. Ask each HVAC contractor to supply you with their Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) registration number. To confirm this information call TSSA at 1 800 268-1142
  4. Ask each HVAC professional to include in their estimate the full price of installation included the cost of permits and inspections where required. Get your estimate in writing including job start, estimated completion date, number of people who will work on the job, payment policy, warranties on parts and labour.
  5. Ask each HVAC professional you have to your home how long they have been in business, what the warranty they offer includes and who honours it, if they are bonded, how much liability insurance they carry and if they have payment plans. As well, enquire if they have 24 hour service available.
  6. Decide which HVAC professional you feel most comfortable giving the installation project to. Common sense dictates that the lowest price is not always your best value. Choose carefully based on the information provided and references given.
  7. When you have chosen an HVAC professional for the job get a written contract and insist that all parties sign it.
