A Lesson in
Clean Counters
- By Sharon Ricci

It's spring and, like almost everyone, I have an urge to de-clutter and simplify my home and life. As a mother in a house of all boys, I consider myself a highly-trained organizer, so I knew how to start – identify one area of my house that's particularly cluttered but easy to tackle.
That was easy. Like almost everyone I know, a corner of my kitchen counter is piled with bills, some paid, others due and some waiting to be filed. Every month another bill arrives and I'd add it to the stack.
I recycled, shredded and filed until the pile was gone and I could see my counter again. My pleasure was short lived when I realized the pile of bills I just wrestled into submission would reappear quickly unless I took steps to actually change the way I managed them.
The solution? Go paperless. More specifically, use paperless billing from Union Gas.
With the Union Gas Paperless Billing option, there's no paper bill. Instead I get an email that alerts me every month when my bill's ready to review. That means no paper to pile, recycle or shred. And no clutter; I liked that idea right away!
Getting set up for Union Gas Paperless Billing was easy. I went online to uniongas.com/myaccount and registered for MyAccount, being sure to click on the paperless billing option.
MyAccount is the Union Gas online tool that lets me view, compare, download and print up to 24 months of historical billing information. Now I have 24/7 instant access to my bills, better comparison tools and no clutter on my counter!
Another great thing about Union Gas Paperless Billing? I'm using
less paper and that means I'm saving trees, which is a great
feeling, especially with spring in full swing outside my window.![]()
