Grilled tuna with wasabi and sweet soy drizzle on jasmine-scented rice

Grilled Tuna with wasabi and Sweet Soy drizzle on Jasmine-Scented Rice Photo

Serves 4

  • 1 pound Yellowfin (Ahi) Tuna, cut into 4 oz pieces
  1. Marinate for 15 minutes in:
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Juice from 4 limes
  • Zest from 2 limes
  • 1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt & cracked black pepper
  1. Combine and mix well.

Wasabi drizzle

  • 2 tsp wasabi powder
  • 6 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  1. Combine and mix well

Jasmine Scented Rice

  • 2 cups Jasmine rice
  • 4 cups water
    1. Combine and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Keep tightly covered until cool – about 30 to 45 minutes.

    2. Grill tuna 3 to 5 minutes at medium heat (375 degrees F) until medium rare. Serve on top of rice and drizzle with wasabi. Garnish with pea shoots and pickled ginger, if desired.
