Grilled Asparagus

Grilled Asparagus Photo

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 2 bunches asparagus
  • 4 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • Cracked black pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Spray bottle with fresh water

Instructions

  1. Remove about 2-inches from bottoms of asparagus.
  2. Combine ingredients and toss asparagus in it.
  3. Preheat barbecue to medium heat, about 350 degrees.
  4. Place asparagus on grill.
  5. Spray well with water.
  6. Close lid and cook for 1 minute, then spray again and move asparagus around each time. Repeat again, until asparagus is tender and a vibrant green colour. The idea is to prevent the skin from charring before the asparagus is cooked.
  7. Cook until just firm.
