Makes 10 burgers

Hamilton Tiger-Cats head coach Greg Marshall takes a hands-on approach to burgers as well as football. "We make our own hamburgers and there's no question that they're better."

  • 1 onion, minced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 3 lb lean ground beef


  1. Preheat natural gas grill to medium high.
  2. In a large bowl, combine first 8 ingredients. Add beef and mix well.
  3. Form into 10 burgers.
  4. Place on grill and cook until lightly browned on bottom, (about 5 minutes).
  5. Flip to brown other side (about 5 minutes), then flip once more and cook to desired doneness, flipping as necessary to keep from charring.

If dripping fat causes flare-ups, reduce heat and move burgers to side of grill until flames die down.
