Chatham, ON – Union Gas president Julie Dill today announced the company’s continued support for safety programming at the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village with a renewed commitment of $125,000 over the next four years. Joining Ms. Dill at the announcement were Mayor Randy Hope, Chatham-Kent Safety Village executive director, Barb Lovell, Chatham-Kent Safety Village president Gary Patterson and representatives from the Chatham-Kent Police and Fire Services.

"Union Gas and its employees are deeply committed to safety both on and off the job and to giving back to the communities in which we operate," said Julie Dill, president, Union Gas. "That's why our support for the Chatham-Kent Safety Village, and six other safety villages across Ontario, is such a natural fit for us."

Including this contribution, Union Gas will have provided over four hundred and twenty five thousand dollars to the Chatham-Kent Safety Village to support their mission to dramatically reduce childhood injuries by teaching children personal responsibility and awareness regarding safety.  More than 6,000 children participate in farm, fire, traffic and other important safety programs at the Safety Village every year.

"The safety of our children is paramount and an important part of what makes Chatham-Kent a desirable place to live, work and raise a family," said Mayor Randy Hope. "I want to congratulate the people at Union Gas for their ongoing commitment to safety, their continued support of the Children’s Safety Village, and the fine community investments they make both locally and across Ontario."

"Union Gas has been a signature contributor to the Chatham- Kent Safety Village since its inception," said Barb Lovell, executive director, Chatham-Kent Safety Village. "This renewed support will make a real impact towards improving the safety of children in the Chatham-Kent community."
