A Message from the President of Union Gas

Union Gas has been serving Ontario for nearly 100 years. Our company and the product we deliver help to fuel Ontario’s economic growth and to meet the Province’s environmental and climate change objectives. Natural gas is clean, abundant, affordable and versatile - the perfect complement to clean renewable power.

We are ever mindful of the privilege and responsibility of delivering natural gas services to over 1.3 million homes and businesses in over 400 communities province wide.

Union Gas is striving to ensure that we are a sustainable and socially responsible company. We believe that sustainability is not an end result, but rather it is a journey. To be sustainable we must balance our ability to ensure we continue to deliver affordable, reliable energy services to our customers while, at the same time, constantly improving our environmental performance.

Union Gas models our social responsibility by carefully managing our energy resources and establishing best practices in our own operations as well as by helping others make environment-friendly choices. Each of us has a part to play in the legacy we leave for future generations. Our commitment to act as environmental stewards is paramount and environmental protection is central to the way we conduct our business.

At Union Gas, we believe that we can tackle the challenges of climate-change through the choices we make. For example, our conservation programs for residential, business and industrial customers have helped customers save energy for more than a decade. Our new operation centers in Windsor, Burlington and Kingston are built to Gold level, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards and are designed to use almost 50 percent less energy than other similarly-sized buildings. We also restore any areas that have been disturbed by any of our construction activities to a condition that is equal to or better than pre-construction.
