Natural Gas Technologies & Solutions
Multi
Family
The Multi Family market is made up of a variety of buildings, including multi-storey apartment and condo buildings, smaller three storey walk-ups, and row housing of all types. Ownership includes rental by property management companies, condo corporations, individual building owners and government agencies.
For residential homes, please visit our residential pages for equipment suitable for your home.
Space heating, water heating, and ventilation air are the three main requirements for natural gas in multi-family buildings. Natural gas is the perfect choice to minimize energy costs for each of these applications.

Space Heating
In any building, natural gas is the preferred choice to provide space heating because it is more economical and effective than alternative fuels. From furnaces to radiant units to rooftop units to boiler systems to steam heating, natural gas is the most effective way to keep your residents comfortable.

Water Heating
Water heating is a critical requirement for all multi-family buildings. Whether for cleaning, laundry, or hygiene, a reliable supply of hot water is a must. Natural gas provides the most economical solutions for all hot water needs.

Make-Up & Ventilation Air
All buildings that have people in them need the right amount of fresh ventilation air. Natural gas ventilation equipment is designed to give trouble free performance at the lowest possible cost, while ensuring a supply of top quality indoor air.

Structural certification requirements for multi-family buildings supplying natural gas to individual suites
TSSA guidelines state that supplying natural gas to individual suites in new and retrofit buildings over four storeys requires a "structural certification letter". This letter must be signed by an Ontario licensed structural engineer stating that the building is "resistant to progressive collapse".
Sample letters can be viewed here.
