Natural Gas Technologies & Solutions
Food
Service
In addition to all types of restaurants and catering services, the Food Service Segment applies to all facilities where food is prepared, stored, delivered and served, including institutions, hospitals, health care facilities, penitentiaries, hotels/ motels, recreational and sports arenas, and more.
Food Service involves more than just cooking the food. It involves activities such as storage, processing, preparing the food and sanitizing the equipment and facilities involved in the cooking process. All these activities require energy. Natural gas is used for heating hot water used for ware washing and linen service; heating/cooling to replace the vented air from kitchen air ventilation; and heating dining room spaces and outdoor patios.
Cooking
Professional chefs prefer cooking with natural gas because of its instant fire power and ease of control. The heat arrives instantly and can be controlled from the lowest setting to a roaring flame that sears food to perfection. Professional cooks need the flexibility natural gas provides, which is why the overwhelming majority of commercial kitchens in North America cook with gas.

Space Heating
In Food Service natural gas is the preferred choice to provide space heating because it is more economical and effective than alternative fuels. From furnaces to rooftop units to outdoor patio heaters, natural gas is the most effective way to keep your customers comfortable.

Booster Water Heating
One of the specialized uses of hot water is to “boost” the rinse temperature in a dishwasher from 60° to 82.2°C (140° to 180°F). Natural gas equipment provides a variety of solutions for boosting water temperature.

Make-Up & Ventilation Air
Commercial kitchens need make-up air to replace the air being exhausted from the kitchen. In addition, your customers need a steady supply of fresh air to ensure a satisfactory dining experience. Natural gas ventilation equipment is designed to give trouble free performance at the lowest possible cost.
