Ice Melting

Ice MeltingIce and snow melting systems offer the convenience of being able to remove ice and snow from sidewalks and driveways without shoveling or salting. Like it or not, our climate requires that proper snow and ice precautions must be in place for 5 to 6 months of the year. Snow and Ice melting systems can make a location more inviting for customers and reduce the chances of accidents from falls.

Advantages of ice melting with Natural Gas

Ice melting systems are specialized versions of radiant heat systems designed to reliably clear large or small areas. Ice and snow melting systems can be designed for specific applications. In locations such as hospital emergency ramps and helipads, removing ice is critical to safety. In other places, like shopping mall walkways, garages and service bay floors, ice and snow are an impediment to customers and may hamper workers. It only makes sense to remove the ice and snow as it falls in such cases. Systems designed for condominium complex and apartment walkways and driveways require between 75 to 125 BTU/sq. ft. A more robust system of 125 to 175 BTU/sq. ft. is ideal for retail, office, commercial, and industrial applications, such as hospital sidewalks and loading docks. Institutional and industrial locations often require as much as 200 BTU/sq. ft. for applications such as fire station roadways, stadium exits, airport taxiways, and hospital emergency entrances.
